The Christmas Parade of Lights in downtown Grapevine is the largest lighted Christmas parade in North Texas featuring over 100 lighted floats. The Parade of Lights will begin at Main St. and Vine St. and go north on Main St through historic downtown Grapevine. The parade is on Thursday, December 2nd at 7pm.
The Adolphus Children’s Parade in Dallas has been in full swing for 22 years and is expected to draw crowds of 350,000 and be seen on 350 TV stations around the country. The Adolphus and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas wanted to give back to the community and created this parade to kick off the holiday season in Dallas. View the Adolphus Children’s Parade route to find the best spot to see all the action. The parade is on Saturday, December 4th at 10am.
The one-of-a-kind ICE! Experience at the Gaylord Texan returns this year featuring Charlie Brown & Friends. This must see exhibit is part of the Lonestar Christmas Celebration and was carved from over 2 million pounds of ice. While your there, enjoy the 52 foot rotating Christmas tree, Santa Claus, 1.5 million lights, and you can even take an extreme tube ride down a snowy hill in Texas! The ICE! Experience at the Gaylord Texan runs now through January 3rd.
The Nutcracker at Bass Performance Hall is a favorite family tradition telling the story of Clara and her magical Nutcracker Prince. An audience favorite is the one night parody show called “The Nutty Nutcracker” which incorporates current events into the classic storyline. The Nutcracker at Bass Performance Hall will run from December 10th – 24th.
The Radio City Christmas Spectacular with The Rocketts will be performing at Nokia Theather from December 1st – 24th with several shows each day on the weekend. This holiday staple has existed for over 75 years and the show that was only in New York City travels the country bringing the colorful,a ction packed adventure to the DFW Metroplex. The Trains at Northpark Mall benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas is in its 12th year of display and about 80,000 people are expected to view this massive exhibit made up of hundreds of miniature Lionel trains. Proceeds from the train display, on the 2nd level between Barney’s New York and Nordstrom, provide almost 1/3 of the annual budget for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. The Trains at Northpark will be open through January 2nd.
